I finally had some time to sit down and mix for a couple of hours, paying a lo of attention to the tracklist. The idea was to make a mix that started in an eccentric, brain oriented way and ended with a smash-this-place-to-pieces way, with some funk in the middle. Thus, I tried to balance the 3 important things in a mix: Yummy stuff for your brain to dance, funky and awesome shit, and ecstatic urges that make you want to tear a place to pieces. The result is shown in the graph above. Even though the mixing was completely lame, especially near DVNO (
I promise I'll work on my mixing
, I think the tracklist was pretty awesome and makes up for a bit of that lameness.
Amon Tobin - Marine Machines
Xploding Plastix - Omar Sharif Bonanza
Aphex Twin - Windowlicker
SebastiAn - Walkman (Re edit)
Jackson and his computer band - TV Dogs
Jackson and his computer band - Arpeggio
Para one - Dudun dun (MSTRKRFT remix)
The Black Ghosts - Any way you choose to give it (Fake Blood Remix)
Boys Noize - Lava Lava
Puzique - Don't go
Daft Punk - Too long
Daft Punk - Voyager (Revolte remix)

Daft Punk - Crescendolls
Justice - DVNO(Surkin remix)

Bag Raiders - Fun Punch

I grabbed some of the latest music I've found and mixed them up. I usually tend to include some old stuff in my mixes, but this is mostly new-new (at least for me). I'm appy with the mixing in general, although I made some blunders/disasters near Momy.
--Fire, thunder and electro--
The tracklisting:
Midnight Juggernauts - Shadows [M83 Remix]
Slow, ethereal, a magic opening with dreamy vocals and a nice harmonic buildup. this remix is truly the opposite of the original.
The Who - baba o riley (RAC edit)
A really fun edit of a classic by the Who. Most die-hard rockers will say it's blasfemy. who cares, it's awesome.
Daft Punk - Technologic (Dilemn Edit)
More a rework than an edit, fuun electro that sounds Justicey.
SebastiAn - Army
Atomisation terminale. Personne ne sortira d’ici vivant.
Boys Noize - Let's buy Happiness(Proxy Remix)
Not very special, but it's fun and gimmicky
MSTRKRFT - VUVUVU
I can't seem to decide if I truly like this song. It's fun though.
Sebastian - Dog (Choreo edit)
Danceable metal. Who would've thought?
Revolte - Blackout
I'm ccurrently loving Revolte, it's simply awesome.
Justice - Stress (Auto Remix)
It's really cool how they totally included part of a symphonic suit in the beginning of an electronic piece. And the bastards got away with it.
Sebastien Tellier - Divine (Danger Remix)
Danger is fantastic, and Seb's vocals are great.
SebastiAn - Momy
Vangelis et Moroder capture dans l’oeil d’un cyclone electronique.
Justice - D.A.N.C.E. (Your Dirty HabiT Remix)
A meh remix, don't know why I put it.
Duke Dumont - When I hear music
I always heard this song and didn't know its name.
Revolte - Weak generation
More Revolte.
Estelle feat Kanye West - American Boy (Danger Remix)
A BOMB, this is one of the best remixes I've heard in some time.
Revolte - Guess what
This is the last Revolte! I swear.
Chromeo - Tenderoni (Proxy distort rmx)
Proxy has a dark, ridiculously basic quality that's unnerving and awesome.
Djork - Dancing in the dark the proxy remix
Like in this song as well.
Boys Noize - Oh! (Ne.Oh!.Pen Danger Remix)
Oh! made awesome
Don't be fooled by the ethereal and slow yet awesome intro, it really kicks in into some nasty electro.
PS: If someone has a decent quality copy of American Boy , please let me know.

It's been like a thousand years since I last posted anything down here (and anywhere else), and I thought I'd change that to the enjoyment of my long-forgotten anonymous listeners.
I've been preparing, with the help of last.fm, a list of all the songs that I love, because of the 50+ GB of music I have there's only a small portion that I find define my taste in music.
So, I'll be uploading songs I like for a while until I manage to get Virtual DJ running on my brand new Laptop that I love oh so much, and I find some time to polish and record a nice mix, so stay tuned!!
Today's tune is Next of Kin by surkin of the great label Institubes. it's a fun song that's kind of brooding and evolving, as if stepping to become something else. And it's French

Justice dropped this remix in their latest set, which you can get in great quality in Kidz by Colette(http://kidzbycolette.free.fr). I think it's awesome, very experimental and 10 minutes long. Missingtoof is so nice to bring us the Jackson remix while teeling us that Tshirts are the new naked:

And a direct hotlink to the song doesn't hurt either:

If you're looking for justice remixes, look no further as I've found a place that has made a compilation of almost all their official (and unofficial) ones:

This is a mash up/ remix done by a guy I met in youtube when commenting on a Daft Punk video. It-s a pretty cool imitation of the Live 2007 performance of the Around the World/H.B.F.S. mash up. It's not top notch performance, but it's a close match to a mash up we are all aching to get in HQ without a cheering crowd in the back. I take no credit whatsoever for it, the guy's profile is

feel free to drop a thank you there.

Somewhat nastier sounds this time, and lots of Ed Banger (almost a tribute).
Tracklist:
1 - Does It Offend You Yeah - We Are Rockstars (Woodies I Like Horses Editt)
2 - Justice vs Simian - We are your friends
3 - Rage Against the Machine/Mr Oizo - Killing In The Name (Clumsy DJ Remix)
4 - Justice - Waters of Nazareth (Bump acapella)
5 - Scissor Sisters - I don't feel like dancing (Teenage Bad Girl Remix)
6 - The Klaxons - Interzone to golden skans (So me remix)
7 - Justice - D.A.N.C.E. (MSTRKRFT remix)
The mixing didn't go so nice this time, I don't know why Waters of Nazareth sounded like crap.
Also, I screwed up in the last song and had to cut that.
Cheers

Today's remix is an exceptional one by Justice, IMO one of the best songs in Daft Punk's last record to late, Human After All. The album is named after this song and incorporates ample use of the vocoder (which I love so much) in an uplifting melody.
Justice have taken this (pretty old) tuneand given it a 70's twist with oscillating synths and a groove that's bound to make your head nod to its infectious rhythm. They've even named it Guy Man After All, clearly as a tribute to one half of the great Daft, Guy Manuel Homem de Cristo.
This song was only available in a very limited Japanese release called "Human After All, the Remixes".
I'll be posting many songs I think are awesome over the next days.

A mix I made some time following Daft Punk's live performance in Argentina, which I was lucky enough to enjoy. It has songs from all of their CDs and in some parts tries to copy parts of the mixing they did in their Alive 2006 tour.
Total: 45:49
1) Alive
2) Burning
3) Around the World
4) Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
5) Technologic
6) Oh Yeah
7) Human After All + Superheroes
8) One more time + Aerodynamic
9) Television Rules the Nation + Crescendolls
10) Robot Rock + Teachers
11) Steam Machine + Revolution 909
12) Da Funk (Reverse it edit) + Revolution 909
13) The Brainwasher
Enjoy!

This is my first podcast, and the first time I'm publishing a mix online, just to see what you think. I'ts quite short (27:17) cuz I want to try and see how fast this thing uploads. The tracks are:
1) The young punx - Rockall (Phonat mix)
2)The gossip - Standing in the way of control (Soulwax Nite version)
3)The Rapture - Whoo! Alright. Yeah...Uh Huh (Simian Mobile Disco Remix)
4)Surkin - Radio Fireworks (institubes president)
5)Spank Rock - Bump (Switch Remix)
6)Justice - Waters of Nazareth (Erol Alkan remix)
7)Mr. Oizo - Nazis (Justice remix)
The songs are quite funky and electrish, with heavily distroted basses and lots of groove which is quite constante throughout the mix. The heaviest (hardest) tracks are without question Waters of Nazareth and Nazis (the last 2). The tracks aren't so commercial as the stuff I usually mix.
Please DO comment if you think it's great or it sucks (I realise the mixing's not excellent)

Es mi primer podcast y la primera vez que publico un mix en internet, a ver qué les parece. Es cortito (27:17) porque quiero probar a qué velocidad se sube. Los temas son:
1) The young punx - Rockall (Phonat mix)
2)The gossip - Standing in the way of control (Soulwax Nite version)
3)The Rapture - Whoo! Alright. Yeah...Uh Huh (Simian Mobile Disco Remix)
4)Surkin - Radio Fireworks (institubes president)
5)Spank Rock - Bump (Switch Remix)
6)Justice - Waters of Nazareth (Erol Alkan remix)
7)Mr. Oizo - Nazis (Justice remix)
Comenten!
